EMC Corporation (NYSE:EMC), the world leader in information infrastructure solutions, today announced that its Global Services organization has been honored with recent awards from prestigious industry organizations including the Service & Support Professionals Association (SSPA), the Association of Support Professionals (ASP), and the Technology Professional Services Association (TPSA).
The recent accolades received by EMC Global Services recognize its continued innovation and leadership in delivering outstanding customer service and support. EMC has achieved its leadership position through the use of best business practices; developing, motivating and retaining support staff; and its implementation of a best-in-class online support site that offers customers innovative self-help tools and fast access to technical support.
"Service and support directly impacts customer loyalty by helping accelerate business value and maximizing the return on technology investments," said Tony Kolish, Senior Vice President, EMC Global Services. "During these economic times, there's a flight to quality as customers look to partner with IT suppliers that can deliver breadth and scale of support. These industry awards validate what customers are telling us—rock-solid service and support sets EMC apart from the pack. Our continued investment and innovation in our people, best practices, and a rich online support experience ensure our customers are best equipped to meet the challenges of the next-generation, virtual information infrastructure."
EMC Global Services was honored with a Spring 2009 STAR Award for Best Practices from the Service & Support Professionals Association (SSPA). EMC won the Best Support Staff Practices STAR award for successfully demonstrating its commitment to, and best practices in, attracting, recruiting, developing, and managing its support staff. To win the STAR award, EMC had to demonstrate proven innovation in support staff practices with tangible business and customer benefits. The areas evaluated by the SSPA included staff development and training, talent retention, customer impacts and business impacts.
The prestigious peer-recognition STAR awards honor companies that demonstrate ongoing high-level commitment to delivering world-class results in service and support. This latest STAR award augments the company's previous five awards for "Mission Critical" support and its 2008 "Best Support Staff Practices" award, for a total of seven SSPA awards. EMC is also among the select companies inducted into the SSPA Hall of Fame.
"STAR award nominees set the pace for the entire industry, representing service and support organizations that demonstrate and ongoing high-level commitment to delivering world-class results," said Stephen Smith, executive director of SSPA. "EMC proved itself through very intense peer competition."
EMC Global Services was also recognized as a winner of the twelfth annual Association of Support Professionals (ASP) "Ten Best Web Support Sites" competition, a prestigious award that showcases excellence in online service and support. The award winners were selected by a panel of judges with expertise in Web support design and implementation, using a scoring system based on 25 separate performance criteria, including overall usability, design and navigation, knowledge base and search implementation, and customer experience. EMC's online support was noted for its capabilities delivering the full value of EMC's support organization via a web-based portal, and providing a preferred destination for all customers' support requirements through the use of live chat, support forums and support by product pages.
The Technology Professional Services Association (TPSA) recently honored Susan McKay, Director of Strategy and Alliance Development for EMC Global Services, with its first annual TPSA Ambassador Award. The TPSA Ambassador Awards recognize outstanding contributions by leading professional services executives through their thought leadership and high level of involvement and participation in the TPSA Community.
